Inspired by luxury travel blogger Carlie Tasker’s recent trip to Mykonos? Find out what she wore on those endless days in the Greek sunshine with her Mykonos must-packs, straight from the SS17 collection at Monsoon. As part of our Tales of Summer series, she showed us her favourite looks from the getaway of our dreams, from breezy whites and linen to effortless denim.
The Lace Sleeve Blouse
Maisie Lace Sleeve Blouse, £59
The perfect boho piece for any holiday wardrobe. As a girl who pretty much lives in denim shorts when I’m away, this lace detailed sleeve blouse is perfect for adding a pretty touch to an otherwise plain outfit. The fabric is really lightweight and flowy, and is perfect for throwing on over a bikini for lunch on the beach and great for protecting your shoulders when you’re feeling a bit tinged from too much sun!
The Linen Jumpsuit
Clara Linen Stripe Jumpsuit, £59
Linen and stripes – two of my favourite things for a sunny destination! I try to keep my wardrobe to a minimum when I travel, often taking just hand luggage and trying to pack versatile items that can double up for various occasions. This linen jumpsuit was perfect for that. Cool and casual enough to wear for a morning stroll around Mykonos Town, but also the right amount of dressy for a romantic cocktail hour in Little Venice.
The Cold Shoulder Top
Isla Cold Shoulder Emnbroidered Top, £45
I had originally planned to wear this top with white jeans, but after a rather dusty experience involving our quad bike I had to re-think my outfit choice and opted for my trusty denim cut offs, again. This top is probably my favourite item from the summer collection and will be accompanying me on many more trips this summer. The bell sleeves and the peplum fit of the body make it really flattering and by wearing with shorts, give the illusion of longer legs – something that I definitely don’t have.
Did I mention I love stripes? This kaftan was the most versatile item in my holiday wardrobe and so comfortable! The fabric is really soft and being quite short, I could get away with wearing it as a dress over a bikini.
