Introducing Ashoka. Our new capsule collection that celebrates where we’ve been and where we’re heading. Inspired by exploring prints from our archive, this collection uses traditional artisan techniques and sustainable fabrics throughout – creating pieces that are handcrafted and truly unique.
Let’s Talk Fashion
Alongside being handcrafted and sustainable, this collection is a spring wardrobe dream. Featuring beautiful floral and polka dot prints in a primary colour palette of navy and red, warmer climates will be beckoning. From tiered dresses to laidback blouses each piece is lightweight and ready for a holiday.
ARTISAN Collection: Rima Batik Top
As part of our new Ashoka collection, we wanted to tell you a little more about how these pieces were made and the artisans who made them. We’re shining a light on our Rima Batik Top and artisan Suresh. An easy-to-wear piece, this design is a sunny day staple with bead detailing and a lightweight feel.
Meet the ARTISAN
Suresh migrated from Bihar to Jaipur for work almost 18 years ago and happened to learn this handcraft on the job. When he first learnt batik, he was extremely surprised to see how the final look was achieved. He fell in love with the craft and has been working in Sanganer ever since.
Suresh has four children, one of his daughters has just finished school and wishes to continue studying at graduate college, while his other children are still in school or have jobs in the city. He supports his children, wanting them to have a good education and jobs for the future. When he retires from work and their children are all grown up, he would love to travel to the holy temples with his wife.
