1. Elopement weddings

We love that elopement weddings are the highest-ranking wedding trend for 2023. WIf you’re wondering “should I elope or have a wedding?” wonder no more. What better way to keep your costs down without compromising on romance? Whether your vision is a destination wedding (I-dos on the beach, anyone?) or a lower-key trip to a registry office one summer afternoon – elopements are the definition of effortless cool. Zero politics: just you, your partner and whatever you want your day to involve (with a lot of stories to tell after!). Bliss.

What to wear to an elopement wedding? There are no rules. From understated white slip dresses with blazers to crisp ivory suits, mini dresses, colourful dresses and classic wedding dresses – wear whatever makes you feel amazing.

2. Wedding bouquet preservation

Eco-friendly weddings are on the rise. It’s great that so many people are thinking of ways to reduce the impact of their big day. A popular eco-trend this year? Preserving your wedding flowers. Whether they’re grown by a family member or styled by a florist, no one wants to say goodbye to their wedding bouquet. A lot of time, thought, effort (and money) goes into them. The good news is, it’s easy to keep them forever.

How to preserve a wedding bouquet though? If your dream flowers include an abundance of dainty country blossoms and wispy grasses, try pressing and framing them. But if your style is more big, bold statement stems, hang-drying them is the way to go. All you need is a dark cupboard and a few weeks – and voila! You have beautiful dried flowers to pop in a vase. Zero waste.

3. Green bridesmaid dresses

When it comes to bridesmaid dresses, the colour for 2023 is green. And there’s a reason why: Green is super flattering on everyone. Hello happy bridesmaids. And there are so many tones to suit your overall look and feel. Whether you like the idea of pastel and mint green bridesmaid dresses or deeper sage green bridesmaid dresses, there’s lots to choose from.

Or if you just fancy a nod to the trend, inject green into your day with cool-girl accessories like sunglasses or hair bands. Just imagine the pictures.

4. Pearl wedding dresses

Drop everything: Pearl wedding dresses are big for 2023. And we’re obsessed. From subtle pearl embellishments and trims on wedding dresses to modern wedding capes – there are so many ways to bring pearls into your bridal look. Whether you go classic and timeless or bold and modern – pearls never go out of style. If you’ve already got your dress but want to adopt this trend, why not add some pearl shoes or hair accessories

5. Embroidered wedding dresses

Boho brides, rejoice. Floral embroidered wedding dresses remain en vogue – and in our opinion, always will. The perfect way to add detail for brides who don’t want a plain wedding dress, but equally don’t want too much glitz or sparkle. Intricate embroidery draws your attention in without being flashy – and will always be a timeless choice. We especially love it with flowy chiffon fabrics for that beautiful free-spirited look. And get your bridesmaids in beautiful embroidered dresses to match, too!

6. Intimate weddings

If eloping isn’t your style, an intimate wedding might just be. But what is an intimate wedding exactly? Growing in popularity since Covid, it’s all about inviting 30 people (or less). There are so many perks to keeping your venue and guest list small – from overall cost to being able to get to spend quality time with everyone you’ve invited. In fact, garden weddings are trending for 2023, with more and more people getting married in their local registry office and heading home to continue the party there. It’s a great way to design your big day around exactly what you want, without having to fit into the rules and regulations of a bigger venue if you don’t want to.
